This program is intended for Members of Scouts BSA. This half day workshop is all about snakes, turtles, lizards, and alligators, as well as frogs and salamanders. Learning about these creatures will lead to an appreciation for all native wildlife. Scouts will study the different species and observe the native species present at the Tenafly Nature Center. With prerequisite 8 completed, this merit badge will be completed in the workshop. The instructor is a registered Merit Badge Counselor.
Adults are welcome to join at the rate of one per scout. Dress appropriately; the program will take place indoors and outdoors. At this time masks will only be required for any indoor portion of the program. Space is limited and pre-registration is required.
Minimum: 5 scouts. Maximum: 10 scouts.
There is a small charge for visiting non-members. $2/person or $10/family.
The annual cost for care and maintenance of this fun and educational exhibit is over $6,000.
