Corporate Volunteer Opportunities

Your time and energy helps make a difference!

A Volunteer Day with TNC

Leave your mark by lending a hand

Corporate groups play a vital role in helping Tenafly Nature Center (TNC). Your team will spend a day in our ~400 acre preserve helping to complete a project that needs lots of energy and extra hands!

Corporate groups with 10 or fewer participants are welcome to join TNC's volunteer Forest Defenders program, scheduled each month on the 2nd and 4th Sundays from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm (see below for upcoming dates), and help with forest stewardship projects.

Larger groups, or those looking to make a lasting impact, may choose one of the following exclusive projects and give your team an amazing bonding experience while supporting TNC’s mission of Enriching Lives Through Nature.

Construct an outdoor amphitheater at TNC for presentations and education events. Clear the area, build a small stage and install seating.

Create an explorative play space for young visitors to enjoy in the TNC forest. Create jumping & balancing paths, a natural material building area, a digging area, a mock-bears den, and areas for water play, music play, and more.

Identify safe boundaries for our teaching spaces and establish a natural material fence. This is perfect for a dedicated and technical group that wants to work together and build their skills.

How quickly can your team sand and paint one of our structures? Other results-oriented projects available!

Plant a shade tree or replace native perennials for others to enjoy and leave a lasting mark for you to come back and visit. Or plant flowers and upgrade our pollinator and sensory gardens and be part of our important work.

Since 1961, Tenafly Nature Center has been Enriching Lives Through Nature by fostering a wide-reaching understanding and appreciation of nature, through leadership in open-space preservation and education programs focused on nature, science and the environment.

The programs provided by TNC have a tremendous impact on those we serve. Children and adults of all ages learn important scientific principles in ecology and biology through exploration, experiments, investigation, interactive games, and open discovery.

Because of donors like you Tenafly Nature Center was able to:

Provided affordable hands-on nature education programs and experiences for over 26,000 local adults and children.

Completed the construction of a brand new aviary, which enabled us to rescue three additional permanently injured birds of prey.

Maintained the over 7 miles of trails and kept our ~400 acre preserve open for you, and 20,000 additional visitors, enjoyment and healthy hiking.

Roll up your sleeves and help us enrich lives from the ground up!
