A non-profit independent member-supported nature preserve. Our mission is to protect almost 400 wooded acres, all of its inhabitants and teach the next generations to do the same. Since 1961, TNC has nurtured an appreciation for nature, been a leader in open-space preservation and in environmental education for our community in Tenafly, Bergen County, and beyond. When trails are open we welcome visitors to hike, bird-watch, observe wildlife, cross-country ski, snow-shoe, and ice skate on Pfister's Pond.
Below you will find information and activities to enjoy on your next visit. Memberships are available to anyone with an interest in helping to support the Tenafly Nature Center.

Woodrow's Website- The Tenafly Nature Center would like to present the adventures of Woodrow the Wood Duck. Each season excerpts from Woodrow’s Northern Migration journal will be presented. Along his migration route from North Carolina to Pfister’s Pond in Tenafly NJ he was sidetracked and was able to see many new natural places all found throughout New Jersey.
The following events are not sponsored by TNC but are listed because they might be of interest to visitors.
Letter Boxing- Is a hobby that entails using clues to find secret boxes hidden in many locations. For more information and the clues for the letter box hidden here at TNC please visit www.letterboxing.org. Boxes clues page is titled Rock, Paper, Scissors.
