The Tenafly Nature Center consists of nearly 380
wooded acres, a pond, and an interpretive building. It serves many
purposes: a sanctuary for hundreds of species of plants and animals, an
important educational facility and a passive (unlike a park) recreational
area. When the trails are open we welcome visitors to hike,
bird-watch, observe wildlife, cross-country ski, snow-shoe and
ice skate. Below you will find information and
activities to enjoy on your next visit
Dedicated to preservation and education, the
Tenafly Nature Center Association is a
private
non-profit, member-supported organization
committed to the environment.
Memberships
are available to anyone with an interest in nature and who wishes to support
the Tenafly Nature Center.

Nature's Calendar

will hopefully entice you to come up and explore the trails more often! Remember
dates are only approximate.
Let us know about your weekly sightings from
the TNC trails:

Woodrow's Website- The Tenafly Nature Center would like to present the adventures of Woodrow the Wood Duck. Each season excerpts from Woodrow’s Northern Migration journal will be presented. Along his migration route from North Carolina to Pfister’s Pond in Tenafly NJ he was sidetracked and was able to see many new natural places all found throughout New Jersey.
The following events are not sponsored by TNC but are listed because they might be of interest to visitors.
Letter Boxing- Is a hobby that entails using clues to find secret boxes hidden in many locations. For more information and the clues for the letter box hidden here at TNC please visit www.letterboxing.org. Boxes clues page is titled Rock, Paper, Scissors.
Geocaching- Is an outdoor activity for gps users to use location coordinates shared on the internet to find caches all over the world. Once found, a cache may provide the visitor with a wide variety of rewards. For more information and the coordinates for the geocaches hidden here at TNC please visit www.geocaching.com. Once there type in our zip code (07670) and there are several that can be found throughout the park.
