Trail Map

The Tenafly Nature Center consists of nearly 380 wooded acres, a pond, and an interpretive building. It serves many purposes: a sanctuary for hundreds of species of plants and animals, an important educational facility and a passive (unlike a park) recreational area.

Dedicated to preservation and education, the Tenafly Nature Center Association is a
private non-profit, member-supported organization
committed to the environment.

Memberships are available to anyone with an interest in nature and who wishes to support the Tenafly Nature Center.

Trails are open to the public from dawn to dusk every day.

  • Please remember you are a guest in an area belonging to nature, therefore we ask that you obey our rules, Click here for TNC Rules, or find them posted on the main trail.

  • Please be sure any children accompanying you are aware of our rules and are under your control throughout your visit.

  • Photographers are reminded that they are not exempt from any rules and must stay on the trails at all times.

  • Any rule violations brought to our attention would be greatly appreciated.

No pets, no bikes, no strollers, and no smoking allowed.

This will help to keep the center a safe, clean, unspoiled, and pleasant place to visit.
Thank you and enjoy your visit.

Groups of 10 people or more people should make arrangements with the staff ahead of time.

Please respect the wildlife and their habitat.
Take only pictures...and leave nothing.

When the trails are open we welcome visitors to
hike, bird-watch, observe wildlife, cross-country ski, snow-shoe
and ice skate
on Pfister's Pond (when available).
Check with staff to find out if the ice is safe.

Please be respectful and keep loud voices and noises to a minimum.
