Summer Nature Day Camp

Children who like nature, love camp at the Tenafly Nature Center!
It's hands-on outdoor learning and fun!

Our summer program allows your child to use all of their senses to explore the wonders of the natural world while they learn about forest and pond ecosystems. Your child's experience is enhanced with hands-on experiences, visits with live animals, games, crafts, and much more.

• Designed for children ages 4 to 14 years old (preschool through 8th grade).

• Led by experienced adult professional educators.

• Different age groups meet each week.

• A 1:10 teacher to child ratio enables us to give your child a lot of individual attention.

• Preschool and Kindergarten campers can attend attend half or full day sessions.

• First through eighth grade campers attend full day sessions.

• Parents can extend the camp day before or after with extended care.

• Camp fee includes camp t-shirt.

Registration & Information
We welcome kids of all abilities and will work closely with you to make sure your child has a great time.

Extended Care
Extended care may be provided before-camp (8-9 am) and after-camp (3:30-5 pm), for an additional fee.  This is not an extended camp experience but during this time campers may participate in supervised outdoor and indoor activities.

Fee per day $10/hour or

• Pre care for all ages available from 8 - 9 am for $40/week.

• Post care for all ages available from 3:30 - 5 pm) for $60/week.

To Register:

1. Download and fill out one registration form per child: (Coming in 2012)

2. Mail it in along with the required fee to 313 Hudson Avenue, Tenafly NJ 07670.

   • Make checks payable to Tenafly Nature Center

   • Family Membership is required for all participants in our summer camp program.

     • If a participant is attending more than one week of camp they only need to pay this fee once.

     • Membership only needs to be paid once each year.  Click here for more information on membership.

3. After registering you will receive a confirmation email which will include the following forms.  Please review, complete, and return all the necessary forms before the first day of camp:

   • Medical release form

   • Camp release form

   • Participant daily checklist and outdoor information

    

4. If a session is marked as Full you can email us us to be added to a waiting list.

   • Include in your message:

     • Your child's name

     • Camp date and age group

     • Your name

     • Your phone number

   • You will be notified if a space becomes available.

Cancel & Refund Information

• A $30 processing fee is charged for all refunds.

• Membership is considered a donation and is not refundable.

• Full tuition refunds (less the processing fee) will be given for cancellations with 6 or more weeks notice.

• From 3 to 5 weeks prior to the first class, full refunds (less the processing fee) will be given only if the space can be filled from the waiting list, otherwise, only 50% of the tuition (less the processing fee) will be refunded.  If no wait-list children are available, you are welcome to find your own replacement.

• No refunds will be given with less than three weeks notice.

• The staff reserves the right to cancel registration without refund during camp week for unacceptable behavior or children registered for the incorrect age group/grade level.
