Programs & Field Trips

Our professional environmental educators are available for questions from the community and offer a wide variety of programming to over 400 groups of area families, adults, children, and scouts each year. With their boundless curiosity, they touch, observe and listen to the natural world.

Public Programs
for Adults, Families, and Children
of ALL ages

Seasonal environmental based programs for all ages. Some programs include Campfires, Winter and Spring Camps (Fun Days), Natural History Programs, Canoe days, Scavenger Hunts, Nature Day Festival, and many more!

After school Series
Youth Programs

Discovery Classes, Outdoor Art, and the Animal Cool Bus are some of the seasonal after school series designed for students in Preschool(4-5 yrs. old) through fifth grade.

Spring series held in April/May.
Autumn series held in Sept./Oct.
Winter series held in Jan./Feb.

Summer Nature Day Camp

Pre-K (4-5 yrs. old) to 8th Graders explore the wonders of the natural world in one week session from July through August.

to the Tenafly Nature Center

Plan a trip to the Tenafly Nature Center. Our programs are designed to enhance and integrate your school's curriculum by providing hands-on, outdoor experiences. All lessons address the NJCCCS.

Environmental programs for ALL ages; available on Tuesday through Sunday throughout the year. Programs are designed for groups that range in size.

Outreach Programs
from the Tenafly Nature Center

Bring the excitement of the Nature Center to your classroom! We can bring live animals, demonstrations, and fun activities to either a classroom or assembly setting. Our outreach programs are custom designed to address the NJCCCS and meet your students needs. Pair an outreach program with a field trip to TNC for even more fun and learning.

Scout Programs

Earn a badge or patch; or participate in one of our several other environmental programs designed for a great scouting experience. From campfires and night hikes to compass work and wilderness survival. Available on Tuesdays through Sundays throughout the year.

Educational and fun for children ages 3 to 13 years old.

Self Guided Groups

Tenafly Nature Center and the Lost Brook Preserve are open and available to all self guided visitors. If you are unable to schedule a program with one of our educators you are more than welcome to bring your group up here on your own. Space is limited and certain areas of the park may be off limits due to conflicting programming. Reservations are Required.
