Our eco tour Vision

Travel and exposure to the wonders of the natural world enriches our lives. Tenafly Nature Center’s eco tour to the Caribbean island of Curacao is more than just a vacation; this tour allows you to truly appreciate what the environment around us has to offer. We believe that real learning occurs through self-motivated discovery. Together, we actively explore the environment, wildlife, and local culture. This tour is designed to impassion curious people. Since 1961, the Tenafly Nature Center has been helping individuals form a community where we are part of and connected to the environment.

Curacao, netherlands antilles

This 8-day adventure will take you to the Caribbean Island of Curacao, where the weather is sunny year-round. Next door to Aruba and Bonaire, this Dutch Island is just forty miles north of Venezuela, and quite simply, a slice of paradise.

Together, with a small group, you will explore the island by land and sea. Enjoy the grand parade at Carnival, local museums, and a jeep tour of an ostrich farm or hike to breathtaking panoramas in the Mount Christoffel National Park.

Explore the coral reef

Tour Curacao's amazing reefs and shipwrecks with Jennifer (marine biologist and dive master). As a special guest of the 5-star Ocean Encounters Dive Shop, we will enjoy a week of Curacao 's unique wildlife, lagoons and magnificent coral.

Snorkelers will discover the fascinating animal encounters, lagoon, and the coral reef. If you have never snorkeled before, that's ok--Jennifer and the other dive masters will teach you all the tricks of the trade. Just bring a curious mind; no special knowledge required.

Divers will find ideal surroundings, shallow calm easy to dive sites just feet from shore; seasoned scuba divers will find sloping walls, wrecks and reefs to fulfill their dive adventure expectations.

The Dolphin Academy offers us the rare opportunity to swim and play with beautiful bottlenose dolphins. Learn the science behind the smile!

Train a sea lion

Learn to train a sea lion in one of the most unique aquariums in the world. With a training specialist, get up-close and personal with these curious and playful animals.

From the safety of the Animal Encounters lagoon we will feed nurse sharks, lemon sharks, sea turtles, stingrays and vibrant tropical fish. The Sea Aquarium provides all equipment for snorkeling or SCUBA diving and of course, the fish!

Enjoy pleasant nights at the Lions Dive & Beach Resort. A private beach, pool and gardens add to the tropical ambiance of this comfortable and friendly resort. Also enjoy the health club, pool, massage and beauty salon, restaurant and bar. The Lions Dive is a stone's throw from the Sea Aquarium and Ocean Encounters dive facility.
