Counselors-In-Training

Counselors-In-Training (CIT) gain valuable experience working with professional educators and children.  By assisting the staff CIT's develop skills to communicate effectively with different age groups while keeping young campers safe and entertained.  CIT's help to prepare, lead and clean up all camp activities.

  • The program is open to students aged 14 -18 years old.

  • CIT’s must be available for

    • Mandatory training on May 20 and June 24 (10 am - 4 pm)

    • a minimum of 2 weeks during the summer camp program.

  • The CIT summer schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 3:30 or 4:30 pm, depending on the age group you are working with.

  • Earn community service credit.

  • Bond with other teens

  • Be a role model to the younger campers

  • Space is limited.

I am interested in becoming a CIT at TNC. What do I do?

  1. Complete the CIT application (call for more information)

  2. Snail mail, fax, or e-mail it to us

  3. Wait for us to contact you after we receive your application.

  4. After you have been accepted you will receive a confirmation email which will include your acceptance letter and the following forms.  Please complete and return all the necessary forms before the first day of training on May 20

Returning CIT's need to only submit a letter of intent which includes the dates of at least two camp weeks they prefer.
